GeoGebra doesn’t have any tools to determine similarity. GeoGebra does, however, have a tool that can determine if there is congruence between two figures. Recall that if two figures are congruent, then they are similar as well—but the opposite is not always true!

GeoGebra Instruction 1

1.
Open Algebra View and Graphics View under GeoGebra icon View in GeoGebra icon Menu.
2.
Draw two figures in Graphics View. They can be anything, as long as GeoGebra is able to name them.
3.
Type

AreCongruent(Object, Object)

in the Algebra View. Replace each Object field with the names of the figures.

If the figures are congruent, the word true will appear in the Algebra View. If they are not congruent, the word false will appear instead.
